Flowing Touch. 2025

Flowing Touch is an 8-channel visual, sound and vibrotactile installation incorporating a video of a Hamilton-area waterfall. The sound from the video is channelled into 8 transducers integrated into a back cushion designed to fit over the back of a chair. The 8-channel system arrangement is duplicated in the touch screen. By touching a circle on the screen it activates the corresponding transducer in the cushion with sound and vibration from the audio of the projected video. This multi-sensory experience moves around the back as the viewer traces their finger over the touch screen.

The camera pans closer and circles to the right of the chair showing a close-up of a hand touching and moving around on the screen. It continues to pan down to the chair cushion and finishes off with an overall shot of the waterfall.
